Your food, your voice — help shape the future of food in the Highlands and Argyll & Bute

Food affects all of us, every single day. Whether it's getting to the shops, affording fresh food, cooking at home, or finding local produce you trust — your experience matters.

Scotland is aiming to be “a Good Food Nation, where people from every walk of life take pride and pleasure in, and benefit from, the food they produce, buy, cook, serve, and eat each day”. Under a new law — the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022 - every health board and local authority has been guided to write a Local Food Plan. This plan will set out how we work together to make food better for everyone in our communities.

But we can only get this right if we hear from you.

We want to know what food is like where you live — what works, what doesn't, and what would make a real difference. Your answers will directly shape our priorities and the actions we commit to. While not all issues are within NHS Highland's control, your feedback will inform how we work together and plan with partners.

It takes just 5–7 minutes. All answers are anonymous.

Take the survey in the link below this article (you can also download a printable copy from this page)

We're looking at six things: can people get good food they can afford; is food produced in a way that's good for the land and sea; does food help us stay healthy in body and mind; can local food businesses and jobs thrive; do communities have a real say in their food; and can we share what works with others.

We'll be sharing what we find, and how it shapes our plan, right here on this page. So once you've had your say, keep checking back.

Please download our project poster and display it in your communities to help more people to put their views forward.
