DO YOU HELP SOMEONE LIVE THEIR LIFE?

Do you regularly help a partner, family member, friend or neighbour who lives in the Highland Council area?

You might help with shopping, medication, appointments, housework, paperwork, emotional support or keeping someone safe. Many people who do these things do not think of themselves as unpaid carers.
NOT SURE WHETHER THIS INCLUDES YOU? TAKE OUR SHORT QUIZ

You may identify with more than one role in the quiz. Some people support more than one person, while others provide different types of support. Not all caring looks the same.

Please take a few minutes watch the short film to see the impact that caring can have on people’s lives.

A note before you watch: This video explores the realities of supporting someone you care about and may feel emotional or familiar to some viewers.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

NHS Highland is reviewing support for unpaid carers across the Highland Council area.
We want to understand:
• what support works well;
• what has been difficult to find or access;
• what support is missing; and
• what would make life better.
You can take part whether you have received support, struggled to find the right help or have never tried to access support before.
Your experience will help NHS Highland shape future support and services across Highland.

    Every day, people across Highland help a partner, family member, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their support. They may organise medication, provide transport, help with shopping, manage appointments or simply make sure someone is safe and well. Many people doing these things do not think of themselves as unpaid carers.

    We want to reach those people, and you can help us spread the word.
    It helps people recognise the support they provide and invites them to share their experiences through the Unpaid Carers in Highland consultation.
