Why are we consulting?
Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is developing a new Joint Strategic Plan for 2026 – 2031. We will be consulting with communities, partners, and stakeholders between 10 October and 10 January 2026. Through this engagement with you, we will build on the Draft Joint Strategic Plan to jointly produce the final proposed version.
Integration Joint Boards (IJBs) are required to create a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP). This is a high level plan of how the IJB will manage and deliver health and social care services using the resources and budgets they control. They must review and update this plan at least once every three years.
We will communicate in person, online and through press during this period but you can register or subscribe on this hub to keep up to date with how this consultation is progressing.
Our proposed priorities:
Priority 1: Preventative and Community Based Care
Priority 2: Integrated and Person Centred Care
Priority 3: Financial and System Sustainability
Priority 4: Healthy and Engaged Workforce
Priority 5: Access and Tackling Health Inequality
Priority 6: Digital Transformation
The final documents from the consultation will be an Integrated Impact Assessment, and a final draft Joint Strategic Plan for submission to the Integration Joint Board in March 2026.
How will we update you?
The outcomes of the consultation, the impact assessment and draft plan will be presented to the Integration Joint Board public meeting on 25 March 2026 and will be available to view from 18 March 2026 as public papers.
Follow this consultation by subscribing and receive an update on what the feedback was and the decision of the Integration Joint Board.

Evan Beswick, Argyll and Bute HSCP, Chief Executive Officer, said,
“We are looking to work with communities and stakeholders to establish what our priorities will be over the next five years. We want to continue the conversation with everyone in Argyll and Bute on whether we have these priorities right and how all of us, the HSCP, Communities, Families, and Individuals, can contribute to keeping healthy so that prevention is not just a concept but a reality. We want to hear how we can make a difference and how we continue to empower people to have their voices heard, their experience valued, and to hear collective evidence on how we work to meet our priorities. We know we have challenges in delivering care rurally both financially and with workforce, our population demographic can also be perceived as challenging. However, there is also an opportunity to be innovative using technology and developing community-based practices. We have an opportunity to lead in the development of care, preparing us for the future.”
