The Parent Hub - Planet Youth Highland
👋🏼 Welcome to The Parent Hub
We are delighted you are here and would love you to take a look about and to share your thoughts and ideas using the various interactive tools below.
This really is your page and we would like you to help us design it so that it provides the information you need whilst offering you the chance to have your suggestions and ideas heard by our team. Your role is a vital one and we understand that the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents and carers. Therefore, we know that we need to improve how we communicate with you as well as hear what you have to say so that we can work together to improve the health of children and adolescents in Highland.
🎯 Our aim for this page
|
|
🧿 The vision of Planet Youth Highland is that all young people are:
- active
- healthy and happy
- connected to their families and communities
- and achieving their full potential.
👩🏾🤝🧑🏼 We can't do this without you!
This is not just a website. This is an interactive page. The various interactive elements are:
- The Forum - where you can chat with each other, offer support and feedback on raising children and adolescents.
- What is your idea? The ideas page is where you can let us know your thoughts and suggestions
- Map of what is available in your area - this is in it's infancy - we would like you to add to it. What is available in your local community or village?
📣 We would love for you to subscribe to the page, this will then keep you notified when we add new information to the hub.

By the time our children are teenagers we want them to make good choices in relationships, we want them to understand topics like consent, and to be safe when they are online and using social media. We can also help them think ahead and learn all they need to know so that when it comes to their sexual health, they are healthy, happy and safe.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child has been incorporated into Scots law. The UNCRC tells us that the family is “the fundamental group of society and the natural environment for the growth and well-being of all its members and particularly children”. In Article 5 of the UNCRC we are reminded that parents’ guide and advise their child, so that as the child grows, they are able to apply their rights properly.
The Chat is here to help you to support your child as they learn about friendships, relationships and growing up. You can look for what you need depending on the age of your child, the topic they are interested in, or the questions they ask.
Go and have a look around - theChat.scot – the Chat is a resource for parents and carers.
