Partners in Advocacy (PIA) has received funding from the CORRA Foundation and the Highland Alcohol and Drug Partnership (HADP) to provide an independent advocacy service for children / young people up to 16 yrs of age in Highland, who have lived/living experience of substance use (drugs and/or alcohol). The experience can be either their own, or those who are close to them.
🔸 Who can we support?
– Children and young people (C&YP) in Highland up to 16 years old who have lived or are living through substance use (drugs and/or alcohol)
– The criterion for referral applies whether the child or young person themselves are directly affected by drugs or alcohol use, or indirectly through someone close to them, e.g. a family member.
🔸How we can help
Our Advocacy Workers can:
– Listen to you to understand your situation.
– Help to identify key issues.
– Find information to help you make choices and understand your rights.
– Write emails, letters, and make phone calls.
– Prepare and support you to attend meetings.
– Help you speak up when you can and speak on your behalf if you need us to.
