Good Food throughout our communities

Food is such a central part of all our lives. It crosses so many aspects of our health and wellbeing: physical, mental, social and cultural.
We know that different people experience food differently; and that it can be harder for some to get the food they want and need in a way they can easily afford or travel to.

The Scottish Government published their Good Food Nation Plan right at the end of 2025, and set out ambitions to transform the food environment and food systems to bring better and more equal access to healthy, age and culturally appropriate, affordable food for all. We are looking at ways to gather the views and experiences of people living in Highland and Argyll and Bute. We want to hear what you think!

The first stage is a general survey that anyone can take. This will give us important insights into the priority issues that people are living with. We would really appreciate it if you share this link, and the poster attached to this page, with others in your communities.

We will also build on this survey, and we intend to schedule opportunities for in-person events and conversations in different places. For example, we will have a stall a local food event in Broadford, Isle of Skye on 25th April.

We will be using the Engagement Hub to share updates, letting you know how you can take part in this work and when we will be visiting your community.
